Main Photograph Collection.

The main photo collection houses all photographs accessioned by the department individually or separated from collections. Activities in the western United States, Mormon culture, and Utah history are the major areas of representation. Additionally, each subject heading (below) may be further subdivided into specific localities and topics, and represent only large general groups of photograph subjects in the collection. Negatives exist for many, and can be made for any print in the collection. Each photograph is drymounted to an 11 X 14 inch sheet of archival 4-ply board. The boards are numbered sequentially as they are placed in the file. Access is through the photo collection card catalogue.
